l'auberge espagnole
oh, why? why? why must the americans be so obsessed with audrey tautou (don't get me wrong, she's great, i like her acting). this show is so not about audrey tautou. this show is about romain duris, judith godreche, it's about kelly reilly, cecile de france, kevin bishop... it's about any of the actors but audrey tautou. she only appeared like for a short 10 minutes out of the two hours! and guess what, in the american version of the dvds (well, i've to get this one, since it's the only one with english subtitle), audrey tautou is the only person listed in the dvd cover. how swell! ): come on!! give them more credits!
anyway, the show itself is gggrrrreeaatt! probably because i can really connect with the storyline. it's wonderful, really. a story about the uptight and shy xavier (whose girlfriend is martine, played by audrey tautou), played by romain duris. because of the career advice given by his dad's friend, he went for exchange to spain. contrary to his expectation, he grew fond of spain and his roommates. it's so touching at parts, and funny at others. really wonderful seeing him grew up, learning about how to love, learning to tolerate, be disappointed, having an affair with just-married lady, having a lesbian roommate, etc. erasmus!
if you got the time, watch it, a story about a boy who found his rest in travel. (btw, he ended up becoming a writer, instead of working in european commission.) oh, and the soundtrack is wonderful! if anyone could get me the soundtrack, i'd be more than grateful! (:
