yet another day II
[note] this entry is very boring. feel free to skip it (and all the 'yet another day' posts in the future).
as opposed to the first yet another day, today's great! lol!
woke up late, made me happy. didn't eat breakfast though, so i was quite a bit hungry by the time i woke sean up (and he, in turn woke wingken). left for vivocity quite late in the day, i think it was 1pm. blah! we ate at banquet in harbourfront. the indian stall is really not bad. briyani mutton was great. and the chicken martabak tasted all right too. it's been very long since i ate indian muslim food. the curry and all, heh!
we went round at harbourfront. yes, harbourfront! kinda wondered myself, i thought we're supposed to wonder around vivocity? oh well, spent 2 hours at harbourfront, got myself a new bedsheet plus a matress protector.
when we finally got to vivocity, sean complained that it's very, very crowded. and he's right of course, it's worst than the opening ceremony days before (friday, i was there also). we visited the bookshop again. crazy! i still found lots of interesting books that i didn't discover days earlier. can cry! lucky i no money! otherwise i'd have bankrupted myself anyway. yeah. my next target is this book by a japanese called haruki murakami. seems that her (hopefully i'm right about her gender) books are interesting. and there were lots of her books there at pageone. plus the amazon review gave the books an average of 4.5 stars (all of the books are also top sellers by japanese writers in amazon). crap man! i'm going to be damn poor for the next one year if i kept buying books after books. oh well.
anyway, finally went up to the third floor. quite a wonderful place with the 'swimming pool' (note the quote). and got the $2 shop. got myself a tin piggy bank. lol! can you imagine me? with piggy bank? the thought made me laugh at myself. but i guess it's good to save. i'm planning to keep it aside for at least a year before opening it. heh. hopefully i still remembered its existence then.
well all right, there was a manga store as well. i wish i could really read chinese well enough. no worry, i'll make sure i learn chinese fast enough. i wanna read the chinese manga! so cheap, so abundant! love, love! that's why, chinese 2, here i come!
anyway, gotta say that i really love chinese now. it's really fun, especially to write the characters. really love all the curves i could do with the characters. and my handwriting is considered quite nice by my friends, heh heh! which is quite a compliment since my english handwriting isn't that great in the first place. and i can write my chinese name now! hahaha! i know, i know! you all will laugh at me now. but it's not easy to write in chinese, although i got my chinese name a long time ago, i still didn't learn to write it down nicely. so here, i'll write for you guys.
yep, there you go, my chinese name. ah, and i'm borrowing meyling's chinese 2 books. can't wait to learn already! 200 more characters, can you imagine!? i'll know like 500 characters by the end of the academic year. wow! and 700 characters by the end of the coming year. but of course my own target is to learn 1000 characters by the end of 2007. yep, that'll be my minor new year's resolution (note: minor). so far all the characters we learned are easy ones. though there are some that requires twelve or thirteen strokes to complete.
went back at 645pm. and my hp showed 550pm. an hour ago the battery died somehow, and i was guessing the time without the two guys around, apparently my estimate fits jakarta's time much better than singapore time. an hour too early!
amazingly, dinner was great. with the super nice fish.
and then, of course, sleeping! took a nap. and then played dota. my obsidian destroyer just got better and better. lost 1, won 1. those were my 3rd and 4th time playing obsidian destroyer. timing last hit is incredibly easy with destroyer.
ok. fin.
hero of the hour: harbinger, the obsidian destroyer
today's book (and tomorrow's too i guess): shadow of the wind by carlos ruiz zafon)
dish of the day: briyani mutton and murtabak
the favourite: chinese (can't believe i used to think that chinese is difficult and simply boring--it's difficult, but boring? or useless? nah, definitely not!)
p.s. so you see why it is a 'yet another day' post? hahaha! boring right? but thanks for reading up till here. you've been a great reader ;).
