global warming
some entities simply like to twist scientific facts and that really piss me off. furthermore, some entities (possibly the same one) also like to use partial information to delude themselves. that's okay, but to actually publish or deliver a talk that use that partial (read: incomplete) information to delude even more people, that's extremely unacceptable. and especially so when the consequence is that people start to ignore the impending disaster called the global warming.
there is another kind of people that i dislike. people with God complex that basically think that the end of the world is coming really soon (usually christians). therefore, who cares about the environment since we're going to go to heaven really soon. firstly, the Bible do not tell us when exactly the end of the world is going to come. it could be years from now or could be centuries from now (and i wouldn't be able to say that it won't happen in say, the next second). it is uncertain that what you do now would not affect the next generation of people, including me (say the end of the world comes a millenium from now, maybe everyone would have died then by your actions). secondly, even the Bible tells you to take care of the Earth (that's the first few things that God told Adam to do).
oh well. what's with the sudden rant. this article! i read this article from a link by RealClimate and it made me furious. for sheer economic benefit, you'd ignore the almost certain (fine, it's almost) fact that global warming is around here, and that it is threatening the future of our kind? no maybe you don't care. by then you think you'd have died anyway. so who cares, right? i hope you don't have any children then, i'd pity them if you do.
oh well. sorry about the rant. shall be back to my peaceful mood. maybe should listen to one or two history webcast.
ciao.
