life: illustrated.

so many things to say, so little words to write it out. what would be better than to use a song. i realised that i can't live without my itunes library. i will just die of suffocation. right now, i can lock myself in my room for 24 hours, 7 days a week and survive with just my itunes. no i don't even need food. not so much as itunes. so here goes. my old-time favourite, which have been forgotten for quite awhile until today.

this entry illustrate my lives. sadly, it probably can be summed with one sentence. there's always something missing.

[a pretty darn cool intro here, so love it! been ages since i heard it.]

Maybe it would be fun
To get a new opinion
Get a little work done
And forget

Maybe it would be cool
If I rocked it old school
Try to break a gold rule
And a sweat

Better than the first time
Better than the worst time
If I could just reverse time
I'd be set

[CHORUS:]
Testing 1,2,3
Can anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

She got a new apartment
It's out on the escarpment
And in her glove compartment
Are my songs

She hasn't even heard them
Since she found out what the words meant
She decided she preferred them
All wrong

Kind of like the last time
With a bunch of really fast rhymes
If we're living in the past I'm
Soon gone

[CHORUS]
Testing 1,2,3
Could anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

We recognize the present
Is half as pleasant
As our nostalgia for

The past'll be presented
Recast and reinvented
Until it's how we meant it

[CHORUS]
Testing 1,2,3
Could anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

He's everything that you need
You wiped out on your ten speed
And either he will succeed
Or just suck

[CHORUS]
Testing 1,2,3
Could anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

Begin the...

[CHORUS]
Testing 1,2,3
Could anybody hear me?
If I shed the irony
Would anybody cheer me?
If I acted less like me
Would I be in the clear?

Would I be in the clear, G?

Testing 1,2,3
Testing 1,2,3

- testing 1,2,3 / barenaked ladies

[super cool guitar here]
Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas
I need to get myself away from this place
I said yep what a concept
I could use a little fuel myself
And we could all use a little change

Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Back to the rule and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets

You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow

- all star / smashmouth

and here is my favourite line, from another song. a line that sure will ern you (read: guys) slapped on the face when taken out of context.

It's hard to say what it is I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say, and I can't do
Enough to prove it's all for you

Rain comes pourin' down,
Fallin' from blue skies
Words give out a sound,
comin' from your eyes

- all for you / sister hazel

if i had wings i would fly
cause all that i need, you are!
and if the world caved in around me
to you i'd still hold on

so i look to you [2x]

he's the one who makes the sun shine
he's the one who that puts the moon in the sky
he's the one who hung the stars
one by one

he's the one who makes the birds sing
he's the one who makes your dreams so high
he's the one who makes me smile
day by day

sitting silent wearing sunday best
the sermon echoes through the walls
a great salvation through it
goes to the people who stare into nowhere
can't feel the chains on their souls

deep in my heart
deep in my soul
there was always something missing
now you've got my full attention

- self-mixed medley / various artists (the last two parts are my favourite favourites, it's so humanish, so down-to-earth, so uncommon, so... i wanted to say 'like me' here, but then again, is it? no.)
