bite my shiny metal ass (karma)

i still couldn't believe it! i just finished studying 800 pages of texts for my CS1104 exam today. i started yesterday at 4pm, after waking up from my accidentally prolonged nap. then i went completely into my full mugger mode, which is so damn rare it actually thrilled me. i was addicted to the textbook! i mean, i know it sounds weird, but well, i really liked what was inside the textbook (but not the lecture). so i just kept on reading and reading. i got my deserved dinner break at 715. after which i slowed down a bit and had quite a bit of chat/study mixture until about 9pm. then i went to my full time mugging mode again until it's time for jm's b'day celebration at 10.

i went to a block only to find that nobody was around in the rooftop. prabs called and invited me to go for jm's a block celebration first in the lounge. well. and i actually managed to witness history in creation! jm kissed prabs and wl! so funny! (you know, the bite the cherries from her mouth thing.) when prabs was about to bite the cherry off her mouth, she laughed and spitted quite a bit. first try fail (actually that's not even the first try, so many tries already). well they managed at the end. what was funnier was the following:

jm: aiya! just imagine i'm l lar!
wl: . . .

the whole lounge erupted in laughter.

then i went up to rooftop in the middle of the celebration. st was quite sad because there were so many of us who didn't turn up for our own b'day celebration for jm. there were so few of us on the rooftop. sigh. but the celebration still went on. it was fun really. joked about quite a bit. ate good cake. a well-deserved break too, i must say.

i was back in my room at about 1115, went into enhanced mugging mode for 45 minutes and then ultra enhanced mugging mode from midnight until 1am. i was literally devouring the pages of the textbooks. nevertheless, i only managed to finished off about 500 pages worth of text. i went off to bathe and was back at 130. went to relax mugging mode for half an hour. managed to read most of the powerpoint presentation given by the lecturer. well, it reinforced what i've studied by just a little bit. at least i know that i actually understand what the topic is all about. ;) then i went to sleep. hahaha!

woke up at 5am to go to toilet. somehow, recently, i kept waking up in the middle of the night to go to toilet. pfft! well, managed to catch some more sleep until 740am when slam called to wake me up for breakfast. went down to eat breakfast until about 815 and then went back to my room. i entered a highly-enhanced mugging mode. completely devouring number system (binary and the rest), logic gates, boolean algebra, karnaugh maps and MSI circuits as if today is my last day on earth. well, it is my last day to study this kind of things. i've swore off all these hardware things for the next three years of my university life.

exam is at 1pm. i can't wait for it to be over. then i can start to study for the next exam, which is harder. yet i've s/u-ed that module, so it shouldn't be that bad. heh heh.

anyway, something really funny happened yesterday. (so cliché!)

i had a really fun dinner yesterday. went down with slam, josh and ey. we proceeded to sit with the 2 a-block girls, carol and wei. kyle, too, decided to join us. while we were having conversation, i innocently brought up the fact that josh is always down when some particular girl is also down. hmm! that sparked of a crazy conversation over dinner. at first i wasn't sure that the girl was down in the first place, but the girl's good friend was sitting just behind me, facing me, so i was predicting that the girl sitting behind me facing the other way must be that girl. interesting! carol confirmed my intuition. after all she's carol's boss.

well, we went on teasing josh for the whole dinner time. and he kept smiling, oh so sweet!! ;) then ey tried to defend him and asked us to not speak so loud since the girl is only 1 metre away from us. then i whispered rather loudly to wei (who was sitting next to me), "hmm, how come today ey keep defending josh? must be he likes somebody and josh knows about it." wah! change turn! we suan ey too! then topic came back to josh. josh tried to avoid it by bringing up slam's dreaded phrase, "slammy darlin'" (edited to conceal some identity).

the story went this way. there was this girl, initially from my block, but she only stayed for one semester. she and slam was in the same OG group during orientation. well, apparently, nowadays, everytime she saw slam, she would go on hugging rampage and greeted him with the dreaded phrase "slammy darlin'" and proceeded to hug him. heh, lucky him! ;) well, imagine that you're slam. all right? imagine as she said that phrase with her high-pitched sound, you start feeling the ants crawling under your skin. as she proceeded to hug you, the feeling grows from unvomfortable to a painful, embarassing moment. take into account the fact that she'd do that to you anywhere: on the bus, just outside a class full with people, around with your hall people, well, basically anywhere she actually meet you. you could imagine why slam dreaded her.

but we've turned that fact into a big, huge joke. well, since this girl don't really do this kind of things with anyone, the joke is that she likes slam. and slam, too, likes her. they're quite compatible, you know?

well, now the focus is on both josh and slam. it was damn fun lar. i'm still so excited now thinking about that. haven't been experiencing such an immense elated feeling and immense fun for quite some time. so oh well. now, the embarrasing moment. you see, ky left early. so out of the four of us guys left behind, i was the only one on the save threshold. no suan-ing, whatsoever. practically because i was the one suan-ing the most. followed by carol, wei and slam. so you know. the next time this happens to you, meaning you in a winning situation, just run back to your room already.

well, i didn't. instead i followed them back to a block (i am, after all, an a block permanent resident, though not citizen). since it was raining, we picked a longer way. well, you know karma. as we walked through the lobby and out, ey noticed a group of girls coming into the carpark. i didn't believe my luck lar! it was the pharmacy gang! wth! couldn't you all like come five minutes later (at least they didn't come earlier)!?

the karma is a scary thing! it was a damn embarassing moment as slam, carol, ey, josh, wei, all suddenly started shouting my name out loud! if i was slightly more prone to blushing, i would have blushed then. hey, keep shouting my name in front of that pharmacy girl! holy cow! i've just lost all of my face! in fact, i probably won't have the face to talk to her again for the next don't know how long. (i'm sure lar! 28 is in a few days you know?) it was really bad! i was practically rushing to a-block gate while the whole group keep yelling out my name in that you-know-what tone! and i'm sure she noticed. sigh. nvm. it's karma after all.

well, it's okay i guess. it's funny how karma went back at you. the girl we were using to tease josh (anyway, it's true that josh likes her, so what's so bad about teasing him) was a cultural group's boss. the girl they were using to suan me was also from a cultural group's committee (basically bosses too).

karma!

then again, i shall take it in a good heart. after all, josh kept smiling for quite long after the dinner accident. so i guess, we're bringing smiles to his world. and they are too, to my world.
